The blog went into kind of deep slumber, but I'm not dead/married/on a world-tour (thanks dverning for the caring email, asking if everything is okay on my side of the planet).
After playing that tournament in bavaria back in january I fell into kind of a 40k depression. The huge amount of unpainted or even unassembled models was dragging my motivation down. And the fact, that each new armybook GW launched in the last year showed how outdated/overpriced some parts of my eldar force are, didn't help much either.
But I'm back with a couple of news and a streamlined schedule. Let's divide those into the following sections: "Things I bought", "Tournaments?", "damn, start painting" and "New Dex please?"
Things I bought:
- another 5 dragons and my goal is get a full set of 3 squads+exarchs, so I need two more boxes.
- got an airbrush from ebay.uk a week ago, but sadly it hasn't arrived yet.
- my family will get a ~200$ compact digital camera this month. It is present for my mums boyfriend, but I guess I can borrow it fore some picture of my army (+he totaly sucks with technological devices like mobile phones, notebooks etc anyway^^)
Bottomline: Except for the temptation to exchange my self made fire prisms for the upcoming new model in the near future, I now own everything I need for me eldar army incl. the airbrush to speed up painting all those tanks.
Tournaments?:
- finished the german TOS at place 20 (out of ~50 players) with a borrowed IG army...
- will play a 2k tournament with my eldar force this month
Bottomline: I will write some short notes concerning the german TOS, but the battlereps from the bavarian tournaments are lost in the void. After 5 month w/o having any notes or pictures to rely on, trying to write the remaining battle reps would be pointless. So I will just list the results from the five games and what impact the tournament had on my list building. Expect that article to pop over the course of the week.
..End of part I

If you're just doing a solid color with the airbrush you'll get the hang of it very quickly. It's the blending that takes a little skill but even that isn't that hard.
Well, basicaly that was my idea... nice and even coat, some minor colorblending and then blacklining all the recess between the armor plates with either a microliner or gw wash. Then paint some of the soulgems and add some minor highlights on the edges. Done...
